How To Get A Vietnam Visa In Moc Bai Border Checkpoint

Are you going to Vietnam via then Moc Bai land border, but you’re not sure how to apply for a Vietnam visa? Then you’ve come to the right place. In this article, we will give you a detailed description in how you can obtain a visa.

Step 1: The first thing you need to do is to bring your approval letter and prepare at least 2 photos of you (standard passport size – 4×6 cm with white background) plus cash in order for you to pay for the stamp fee at the arrival border.

The following are the documents you need to submit in order to get your visa at the Moc Bai border checkpoint:

  1. Original letter (The letter will be processed and sent to you in real paper before your trip to Moc Bai)
  2. Your original passport
  3. Form NA1 – Complete information and attached information in advance
  4. Stamping Fee*

* Stamping fee for Vietnam visa at the Moc Bai Border checkpoint:

  • 1 month single entry: 25.00 USD/person
  • 1 month multiple entries: 50.00 USD/person
  • 3 months single entries: 25.00 USD/person
  • 3 months multiple entries: 50.00 USD/person
  • 6 months multiple entries: 95.00 USD/person

Step 2: The second step for you is to go to the Moc Bai border. The bus ticket price ranges from 2 dollars to 12.

BUS OPTIONS: From Ho Chi Minh City, take a bus to Moc Bai

Option 1: Take the public bus no.703 at bus station in Park 23/9 (just opposite to Thai Binh Market at the corner of Pham Ngu Lao and Cong Quynh street). The bus departs every 30 minutes and only goes to the Moc Bai border. Price is 40.000 VND/person (about 2 USD/person

Lest you want to do a visa run and come back right away, this is the bus option you should choose.

Option 2: Got to any office and book any bus at Pham Ngu Lao Street. Be aware that this bus goes to Phnom Penh. The bus costs about 10-12 USD/person, one way.

If you’re going to spend leisure time in Cambodia, this is a good option

STEP 3: The third step is to exit Vietnam and get your exit stamp at the Vietnam Immigration counter at Moc Bai Border (Vietnamese side).

TEP 4: The fourth step is entering Cambodia with an entrance stamp on your passport at the Cambodian Immigration check-in counter (Cambodian side)

Cambodian visa:

If you are required to get a Cambodian visa, you can buy a Visa on Arrival on the arrival counter. The Cambodian Visa is available at the border, and you don’t have to apply for it in advance. The visa on arrival will be processed on the spot and the fee is around 35 USD.

Afterwards, depending on your purposes in the country, you can either leave Cambodia right away or stay in the country for a while. You will afterwards do the exit procedure with the exit stamp on your passport and thereafter leave Cambodia.

STEP 5: The last step is for you to go back to the Moc Bai border, fill in the entry visa form, present the original passport, original letter and the photos you prepared in step 1. You will then pay for your stamp fee and get your visa approved. The process takes around 15-20 minutes depending on how many people there are there.
